My grandfather migrated from Rajasthan to Kolkata back in the 1970s for better opportunities for his business. Both my father and my uncle had to leave their education midway and start helping my grandfather run his business. Soon, through the hardworking of my family, the business started to grow. This story teaches me several things. My parents managed to be successful in an unknown town, a town where they did not know anyone. This story taught me that “believing” in your dreams and hard work is extremely important.
One thing that sets me apart is my drive. I work hard and persevere even when times are hard. I remember I was diagnosed with dengue in between my board examinations and had to be hospitalized. I did not let this setback affect my performance or mindset and secured a perfect CGPA of 10.
I have always been strongly inclined towards quantitative analysis and logical reasoning. I like working with numbers, and it is because of these reasons that I always excelled in disciplines like Mathematics, Accounting, and Economics. This interest of mine also drew me to games like Cluedo, Scotland Yard, and Poker.
Currently, I am studying at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. I am a part of the Kelley Honors Program and am involved in several organizations on campus. I like teaching and am also a part of the Indiana University Bloomington Squash Team.
I like to enjoy each moment of my life and am looking to make the most of my time at Indiana University. I am aspiring to major in Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics. I look for a career where I can advance my interest in quantitative analysis and logical reasoning.
